Everything You Need To Know About Vintage Cruiser Campers

What is the Vintage Cruiser camper?

Vintage Cruiser campers are old-school or classic style campers with all the amenities you would expect from a modern camper.

So if you are the type of person who has been longing to camp in an old-school type camper, you should strongly consider getting a vintage camper.

In addition to having an old-school design, vintage cruiser campers are generally very well-built, feature-rich, and come ready for both short and long vacations.

Who makes it?

Vintage Cruiser campers are made by a company going by the name Gulf Stream. Gulf Stream is a family-owned business that started in the early seventies in Nappanee in the state of Indiana.

The company’s founder, Jim Shea, got his inspiration from the entrepreneurial spirit of the Nappanee community, which is historically associated with Mennonite and Amish communities that live in the area.

The first business started by Jim Shea was a house manufacturing business. The business grew gradually and became one of the best house manufacturing companies in the region.

In the year 1983, Gulf Stream was established as part of the business Shea started in the early seventies. Gulf Stream was solely focused on making recreational vehicles.

From 1983 when Gulf Stream became official and separate from the housing business that gave birth to it, the RV manufacturing company has grown in leaps and bounds to become one of the top RV manufacturers in the United States.

As of now, the company has manufactured over 300,000 RVs that have been sold across the United States and Canada.

Vintage Cruiser campers are among the 140 plus models that are manufactured by Gulf Stream in Indiana.

Despite its massive growth, Gulf Stream Coach remains in the control of the Shea family.
